Safari Itinerary

Welcome to Uganda! Your safari begins in Entebbe, Uganda. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by our airport representative who will then transfer you to the hotel for check in. The rest of the day will be spent at leisure.

You will also meet your driver guide today for the tour briefing so that he/she can be able to take you through the itinerary. The guide will also be able to answer any of your questions related to your trip.

After breakfast, you will be picked by your driver guide and head off to Jinja region. This region is known as the adventure capital of Uganda because it offers several activities to choose from including white water-rafting, kayaking and many more. Your accommodation for tonight is located close to the mighty River Nile.

Afternoon will be spent at leisure, with several optional activities such as the sunset boat cruise to the source of river Nile.

Today is a free day for optional activities. These Optional activities includes white water-rafting on the Nile River, which is considered to be among the best rafting destination in the world. There is an option of doing half-day or full day water rafting depending on your ability. The Nile River is also renowned for its magnificent rapids and several other grade v rapids including the Big Brother, overtime and silverback, each of them offering a unique rafting experience.

After breakfast, we will leave Jinja and drive to Murchison Falls National Park (approx 6 hours).

The park is bisected by the river Nile which squeezes through an 8 meter narrow gorge before plunging with a thunderous roar into ‘’ devil’s cauldron “ creating a trademark rainbow. Murchison falls National Park is also well renowned because of the film “The African Queen” starring Humprey Bogart and was filmed on Lake Albert and the Nile in 1951.

The park is home to several species of wildlife including lions, elephants, leopards, buffalos, giraffes, Uganda Kob and many more.

Notable visitors to the park include Ernest Hemingway, Winston Churchill, Theodore Roosevelt and several British royals.

We will start the day with an early morning game drive in the park and spend the early hours looking for the elephants, lions, giraffes and the elusive leopard before returning back to the lodge for later for lunch.

Later in the afternoon, we will depart again and head off to the Nile River for a boat cruise along the river which will last about 2 hours. The boat will take us upstream close to the bottom of the water falls near the “Devils Cauldron” where the water fall plunges through the narrow gorge creating a trade mark rainbow. There will be an optional hike to the top of the falls which offers an outstanding view of the water fall from above.

After the hike, you will join your driver guide and head back to the lodge for the night.

After breakfast, we will check out and drive to Budongo forest for the chimp tracking activity. The terrain is well maintained and reasonably flat, making it easy to navigate from one point to the other. Your chimp trek guide will brief you about all that you need to know about this activity.

It might be cold this morning so please dress warmly. Remember to carry with you a rain jacket in case you might need it later because this part of the country receives a lot of rainfall.

Upon locating the chimps, we will spend approximately 1 hour watching them feeding or playing with each other. Later, we will walk back to the starting point where you will meet your driver guide before proceeding on with the journey to the town of Hoima for the Night.

After breakfast, we will drive all the way to Queen Elizabeth National Park located on the foothill of Rwenzori Mountains. Upon arrival, we will check in and have lunch afterwards before heading out for an optional boat ride along the Kazinga channel in search of wildlife including hippos, elephants, buffalos and several species of birds. The boat tour last approximately 2 hours.

After breakfast, we will check out and head off to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a short morning game drive before proceeding to the town of Kabale where we will have lunch then continue with our journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Accommodation: Lake Mulehe Gorilla  Lodge or similar   

Today will be an early rise in the morning. After breakfast, you will be transferred to the gorilla trek starting point. You will meet other people at the venue also joining for the same activity. Your driver guide will brief you the night before the trekking day so that you can get more information about what you need to carry or put on in preparation for the trek

Today will be one of the most memorable days of your life as you spend one full hour with the family of the mountain gorillas. The trek might take some time as you cut through the under growth with the help of your guide but expect a minimum of 3 hours of walking on an irregular terrain with steep ascents and descents over muddy slopes.

We recommend that you hire a local porter at the starting point to help you carry your bag or heavy camera equipment. The guide will also provide you with a steady and supportive hand when going up and down the steep ascents and descents.

Kindly note that the porters services are arranged on the ground at the starting point and paid for locally at the end of the activity.

After breakfast we will check out and proceed towards the border and exit Uganda then enter the neighboring country Rwanda. After finishing with all the immigration formalities at the border, we will drive to Kigali Genocide Memorial Museum.

Rwanda is widely remembered for the 1994 genocide where over a million people lost their lives. There is a moving museum in the city of Kigali to commemorate this sad period in the country’s history. After the memorial museum visit, the driver will recommend to you the best place to have lunch en route on your way to the hotel. If time allows, we might do Kigali City Tour (optional) or proceed to our hotel and spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure.

The trip comes to an end today after breakfast and no activities are planned. Please feel free to depart any time based on your flight timings.

If you would like to stay in Kigali city for another extra night for additional post-trip accommodation (extras) then we will be glad to arrange this for you but subject to availability.
